So it was time for the next level of our trip - USA!
Imagine that we left on the 15th of March, at 14.00 and flew for 13 hours and arrived on the 15th of March, at 06.00 in the morning! Is that possible? Yupp, 21 hours difference and we actually gained a day, and had breakfast 3 times that day HAHA : )
When we made our way through Los Angeles with our backpacks on the local buses with a little piece of paper with directions on it, we definitely felt that we were “back on track” again – this is how we like it! Together with some very cool bus drivers, and helpful people we managed to get to Karolina, a friend of Magda, who lives in LA. Together with her boyfriend Dorje, they helped us a lot and showed a bit of Los Angeles and America : ) On the very first day, the very looong day we gained, we managed to get to the downtown (which really wasn’t as we expected it to be) and to HOLLYWOOD! We saw the walk of fame, and the Hollywood sign and it was all so different then we think of it back in Europe, but it was really cool to see! Check out the photos : )
We borrowed Karolina’s and Dorje’s bikes and cruised around LA like locals : ) , to Venice beach where we saw a lot of street performers and tried an Amrican sandwich with double cheese and double bacon (!!) , and the canals of Santa Monica. Later on, we went to Beverly Hills (to look for Brandon, Dylan, and Brenda – for those of you who followed Beverly Hills back in the days), which was a really fancy nice place! Apparently, there is sun for 300 days a year here in California….well… we had a couple of the remaining 65… : )
We decided to try the new trend here, namely Vegan food – now that’s interesting! Chicken that isn’t really chicken, beef that has nothing to do with beef etc… it works! But later that evening we decided to try all the local beers, not very vegan, but very good! : ) Since Los Angeles is all about the movies, we went to the Universal Studios on our last day in that city, and it was definitely worth it!! A tour on all the stages and work they do in the movies…amazing!! In the end of our adventure in LA, we got on a Greyhound bus, a very popular transport system here in the US. So far, so good!
Thanks a lot Karolina, for the heart you put in everything you did for us!!! We will see both you and Dorje again in San Francisco! : )
